Winter Snowfest in Michigan

Gary and I went to Snowfest in Frankenmuth on Saturday. Brrr...it was cold, but it was fun watching the people and checking out the goodies in the warming tents. I experienced a couple of firsts too. Did you know people can actually bowl with frozen turkeys? That just doesn't seem right, but people were lining up to throw wrapped turkeys down a snow alley! The other thing I discovered was a new drink made from butterscotch schnapps and hot cocoa topped with a dollop of whipped cream. Yum! That helped take the chill away!

Here's a few pictures we thought we'd share. First up is a snow statue:

There were lots of ice statues scattered around too. My favorite was Minnie Mouse:

Gary took 25 pictures altogether. If you're interested, click here.

New Years Eve 2007

Here are some pictures from New Years Eve courtesy of Ron. We went to a VFW hall with Bob & Diane and Donna & Ron to listen to a live band, enjoy the buffet, drink a little, dance a little and laugh a lot! It started snowing shortly before midnight - huge, fluffy flakes - and by the time we started home the roads were snow covered. We didn't let it bother us though. It was peaceful, quiet and beautiful, and the perfect way to start the New Year.

Me First!

Okay, I'll go first! Gary and I visited mom at the nursing home yesterday and Kerry met us there with the baby. My mom enjoyed holding Grace, and I was impressed by how much strength mom still has. Grace is a wiggly bundle of energy! We're not sure mom realizes she's Grace's great-grandmother, but she got a kick out of seeing her just the same.

Here's a picture.

The Journey Begins!

Hi Everyone!

It recently occurred to me that it would be nice to have one central location to share information with our extended family and friends. If you're interested in posting news, pictures or simply saying hello, you have two choices: 1) You can e-mail me your pictures and info and I'll post it for you, or 2) I can change the settings to allow you to post directly. I'll even tutor you on how to use Blogger!

Feel free to comment on anything you see here. Also, a word of advice. Please refrain from posting last names, addresses, phone numbers or any other personal information that could fall into the wrong hands and compromise a person's identity or location.

I think that covers everything. If you can think of something I left out or have a suggestion, leave a comment for me. Otherwise, feel free to pass this web address along and start sharing!

Kathy - your blog mistress!
